Every weekend, I get an email with a link to a super-fresh-looking article about how Instagram bots will kill your portfolio. After covering the thread for a few days, it dawned on me that mobile apps have become the next frontier of SEO -- and there's really no better time to leverage the power of the medium than now. I got to thinking about other big tech companies, like Amazon, and started putting a few ideas together. I was then inundated with email, a couple of posts were up and many people wanted to run their Instagram and Facebook accounts through a specific mobile app. I set the core project in motion and started working to build a couple of apps for various companies. I got pretty creative with these apps and had lots of fun along the way.

The first app is intended for Instagram, but there are two apps I built for other tech companies: Rapumblr and Minecraft Gamer. I literally slapped my company logo on an Instagram app and called it in the name of it. The places my company goes aren't the same as Instagram's. For example, the Rapumblr app's highlighted in at Blosch Baby! Learning VR to Notebooks in 2015. There's also the Minecraft Gamer app for people who just love Minecraft and who can't make it down to Seattle for the event. My startup also puts the Stanford Basketball app in the app store for those who can't make it to Palo Alto.

The creator of Minecraft Gamer is figuring it's ideal if you didn't even build the whole game so that the focus was on building your own examples. The idea for my own Minecraft player is that Minecraft people can create amazing games using the same systems and tools as right now. My XCOM app, which is very much a Microsoft app, allows you to create your own army in the style of the Aragorn animation. Like Minecraft Gamer, I get in touch with Minecraft players by simply sending an app over to them.

The playlist was made for my own trial run of the Bring Your Own App to Stanford baseball game.

The one downside with all these apps is that all the objects and models are inherently web pages in a mobile app. With some games, like Minecraft Gamer, you're really getting more representations in your app. It's much more limited. Otherwise, they're just web pages. Some other apps like Netflix and Instagram seem to be more flexible, but most of them simply mirror their sites and portals. One benefit of working in mobile app development is the fast speed of development and the wonderful relationship with a platform.
